ProcoliX builds IT infrastructure for others, but we also build a shared infrastructure for those who don’t need to have everything for themselves. What we have built for ourselves can also be used by others, some people call that cloud, but we call it shared infrastructure. At ProcoliX you can rent data center space, also known as colocation. For example, half or a whole rack, but also several rack units are possible. We also have various virtualization solutions, such as Proxmox and XCP-NG with Xen Orchestra from which you can purchase one or more virtual machines (VM) or virtual private servers (VPS). This can be managed, managed by us or without management where you simply do the management yourself. We are of course also a Proxmox and Vates partner. But we also offer fully managed services, software as a service, such as a well-functioning e-mail server with spam filtering, NextCloud with data sharing and calendar function and Forgejo a git repository server. And if you want to run specific software, especially if that software is self-made or open source, we can also arrange that for you. With service level agreement and 24x7 support. ProcoliX has its own Autonomous System or AS, with which we are redundantly connected to the internet in various places. You can use this if you purchase other services from us (after all, no network, no internet). We have sufficient IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and manage our own access, without dependency on big tech. If you do not have enough IP addresses, we can guide you in purchasing IP addresses and, as RIPE NCC LIR, guide you in the correct administration and application thereof. Safe and available by default and by design

Of course, there are companies that pretend that availability and safety, security, is something optional that you have to buy separately. At ProcoliX, everything is set up safely and available, we take that into account when setting up the infrastructure. The clearer and simpler the way in which a service is designed, the less chance of unplanned interruptions and problems. ProcoliX has an impressive track record for offering services that really have to work, even when there are a lot of visitors or when there is special attention for a service. For example, ProcoliX has been keeping theater websites running for more than 15 years, where peak visits can occur for a particular artist during ticket sales. ProcoliX also keeps government sites and semi-government sites available, such as the coronamelder website during the corona crisis, the voting guide websites of Prodemos and petities.nl of the Open Domein foundation. Sustainable and green in a well-considered way

In terms of sustainability, ProcoliX looks at the world in a very practical way. Because we look at everything in the long term, you will not quickly see us replace a well-functioning system with something new, just because the depreciation period has ended. We go for a balanced and reasoned decision. For example, we frequently use equipment that has been discarded by others, but can still be used for years. Of course we try to work as fossil-free as possible, so all our data centers, but also our office spaces are 100% supplied with green energy. Our coffee is made by grinding beans and not with pre-packaged cups, which is even tastier. And most of our furniture has been used before. What we try to do is ‘green by design’, which at least ensures that we have thought about it well in advance. That means that we sometimes make choices that are not obvious, but that still yield a more sustainable result in the long term.
