If you've visited our website recently, you might have noticed a big tech plug in the design. That plug wasn't just there for fun. It started as a playful metaphor: a way to show that at ProcoliX, we consciously choose open technology over the closed ecosystems of the big tech giants.
However, we've noticed that this image has started to send a different message. What was once a humorous wink can now feel like a strong ‘against' statement, and that's not who we want to be.
ProcoliX isn't about being against big tech. It's about standing for something: for an open and fair internet. A place where privacy, transparency, and collaboration come first. The plug, however fun or recognizable, can get in the way of that positive message.
Instead of quietly removing the plug, we want to replace it with something meaningful and positive. Something that reflects our core values, that our community can recognize, and that everyone can be proud of.
Maybe you can think of a new icon that shows collaboration and connection. For example: hands coming together as a symbol of teamwork; a circle of people forming a whole to represent the power of connection; or a plug that clicks together, not with ‘big tech', but with the word ‘open', symbolizing an open internet. Anything goes, as long as it expresses openness and fits with our company.
ProcoliX is built on collaboration. Our services are open, our infrastructure is transparent, and we believe the best ideas often come from the community. That's why we're asking our users, supporters, and everyone who shares our vision: think with us!
Got an idea for a new visual element? A concept, or even a sketch, we can work with? We'd love to see it.
It's already great if you want to help us build an open and fair internet, but we'd also like to give something back to those who think along with us. If you send us a design or share a suggestion, we'll make sure to thank you properly. You'll receive an invitation to the unveiling of the new metaphor. If everything works out, we'll host the event at the TV tower in IJsselstein, on the 16th floor, overlooking the Netherlands.
So: what should replace the plug, in your opinion? We look forward to your ideas and to the process of creating something that truly fits ProcoliX.
